LS Conversions in S10s are pretty similar for 1st Generation and 2nd Generation. Same motor mounts. Same exhaust. The main difference between all S10's are the frames. The most common to have are 2WD, 4WD, or the Blazer with the upraised frame perches. Blazers and 2WD are nearly identical frames other than the upraised frame perches. They have a different frame side mount and wider frames. There are example photos of the differences
In 1989, the frame was changed a LITTLE when they added the 4.3 as an option along. They should all have an electronic speedometer cable at this point as well. Some later frames are boxed making them sturdier and a better candidate for more power. Transmission crossmembers are not interchangeable between the generations or Blazer frames to 2WD frames. Second generation transmission crossmembers will depend on what engine came in the vehicle.
The 2.2 and the 4.3 fuel pump are capable of 58 psi although the 2.2 Flex Fuel pump is more capable. You can always retrofit an aftermarket fuel pump. Verify the fuel pressure and the flow you are getting to ensure the fuel pump is in good enough working order for your swap.
S10's that came without AC from the factory have smaller heater boxes and are a common swap to help clear the passenger head. You can also cut and fiberglass it back in to help clearance the passenger head. The coil packs bracket may need modification or relocation to help clear passenger side.
Although Astro Vans have similarities with S10's and their motor mounts, their motor mounts on the engine crossmember are much further away from each other than an S10 in comparison. Our S10 conversion motor mounts are not designed for Astro Vans. Several customers with 2WD Astro vans have used the 2WD S10 motor mounts with 3/8" shims on the block and frame side. A customer with an AWD Astro Vans used the 4WD S10 mount but had to extend the driver side mount to bolt up.

*The H3 Alpha Hummer "Muscle Car Pan" should clear the engine crossmember. The Holley 302-1 is similar in dimensions but lower profile. Some situations require a notch on the rear of the engine crossmember to clear the oil pan.
*Dirty Dingo low mount AC clears the frame. Stock LS compressor in truck spacing requires a notch. Example notch is shown lower on this same page.

*Mounts are offset to allow better fitment around the front differential
*Will fit Milodon #31083 S10 4X4 oil pan. Also required is Milodon pick up tube #18291, oil filter relocation #21575, and bolt kit #85002
*If removing the front diff and converting to 2WD, you can use the 2WD LS Conversion mounts. Pay attention to your wheel bearings as the early style will require you to grind down the outer CV shaft to hold in the wheel bearing while the later style is a pressed style that will retain the wheel bearings without that stub. 4WD Frame
S10 Frame with Body Swap
DD-LS-S2-EZ
These will bring the motor further back passed the S10 firewall. These are for when you are using an S10 frame and doing a body swap and you have much more engine bay space. Engine is further back than a regular S10 LS swap so regular S10 swap specific parts may not fit such as exhaust and transmission crossmembers.
*Reccomended to run a Holley 302-1 oil pan for ground clearance. Truck pan clears the K member by less than an inch but hangs below the engine crossmember.
*Dirty Dingo Low Mount AC does NOT clear when the engine is this far back.
Oil Pan
2WD Frames:
Most common oil pans used on the 2WD frames and Blazers are the H3 "Muscle Car" pan and the Holley 302-1 pan.

Comparison
4WD Frames:
Some people space the diff 3/4" down to be able to use the Muscle Car (H3 Alpha) or the Holley 302-1 oil pan on their 4WD frame.
No modifications requires when using the Milidon 31083. This pan has even more clearance than the oil pans above and will also work on the other S10 models.
