LS GEN III/IV are internally balanced so you can easily change the Harmonic Damper out to other accessory drive spacing with a simple swap of the Harmonic Damper, the Water Pump, and the Accessory drive system. For the most part the bolt patterns on the face of the engine are the same so you can easily swap one accessory bracket to another engine. There are some small differences between blocks, the most obvious being that iron blocks are missing two bolt holes on the driver side for low mount alternators. You can still drill and tap an embossment on the face of the engine to get one more mounting hole however it is highly reccomended to run the 98-02 Camaro CS130D to be able to run the rear brace so you can have three points of contact on the engine.
Clearing Up Some Confusion
Yes, your LQ4 truck engine is considered an LS. Not an LS1, but yes they are still an LS engine. LS1 is an RPO code, not the entire 3rd Generation of Chevrolet SBC's. Vortec engines include 4, 5, 6, and 8-cylinder engines. GM has reused RPO codes and the word Vortec over the years. The original 454 came in several variants including the LS6 and LS7. The most common 6.0 is a truck engine, but an LS 6.0 was also available in a Corvette, GTO, and the Trailblazer SS which ALL have different power steering pumps. When referring to what engine you have, it is helpful to say the year and what you pulled it from. If you have a 2015 5.3, it's most likely an LT GEN V.
It is always best to mock up the engine to see what kind of room you have available before purchasing a bunch of parts.
How to measure an OEM Harmonic Damper
LS engines come in all different shapes and sizes. There is no one size fits all. Sometimes its cheaper to buy an engine with accessories that will already fit your application. For example, buying a LS3/L99 from a 2010-2015 Camaro and dropping it into an 85 C10 will require you to change oil pan and the accessory brackets as that large case alternator down low is going to hit the engine crossmember. If you started off with a truck engine than all you would need is an AC bracket as everything else fits just fine.
LS4 FWD
Lets start off with the black sheep. LS4's are found in 05-08 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, 06-09 Chevrolet Impala SS, 06-07 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, and 08-09 Buick LaCrosse Super. Their accessories are even tighter than Corvette and we do not currently make accessory brackets for them. These 5.3L engines require special oil pans to clear the transmission and only mate to FWD specific transmissions that have the mount for the starter. The block uses the FWD GM metric bellhousing bolt pattern (also referred to the GM small corporate pattern and the s10 pattern) and as such LS4's will not bolt up to a regular 4l80e. Although the crank has similar casting numbers as a truck 5.3L, they are not interchangeable but you can interchange rods and heads. The LS4 shares similar bolt pattern for motor mounts, but the engine is mounted sideways in comparison to a normal LS so normal LS conversion mounts will not be a drop in solution. Moroso recently released an oil pan that relocates the starter and has better baffling. This will open up more transmission oppurtunities!

LS4
Corvette Spacing
The first LS engine available was the LS1 in the 1997 Corvette. Then later the LS6 for the 2001-04 Z06 models. From the outside they still like the same. Corvettes used the same style accessory bracket from 97-13.
LS1/LS6 Corvette
Camaro Spacing
The LS1 was available the next year (1998) in Camaro/Trans Ams. The most notable differences are the oil pan, exhaust, and the accessory drive setup. They used the same exact water pump with different tensioners.
98-02 Camaro LS1
2004-2006 GTO's have a front sump oil pan. 2004 they still had an LS1 and had a different and NLA power steering pump setup. You can get aftermarket pumps still, but not the pulley. You can however easily swap it over to the 05-06 GTO or even our aftermarket 98-02 Camaro setup. The pulley does not interchange, you have to buy a new power steering pump setup if you break your 04 GTO pulley. The low mount alternator runs a large case instead and is kicked out more than 98-02 Camaro. You can remove the alternator bracket and install 98-02 Camaro alternator to save space.
04-06 GTO LS1/LS2
Truck Spacing
LS Engines were first available in trucks in 1999. Yes they are considered LS engines as well, not just a Vortec.
LQ4
LS2 Trailblazer SS AWD
LS2 out of a Trailblazer SS with the AWD oil pan. Same truck water pump but a different power steering pump and pulley. Not interchangeable with stock LS truck power steering pump as its a different bolt pattern on the bracket. You can get a used truck accessory bracket for cheap and bolt on a regular LS truck power steering pump. The pulleys are NOT interchangebale between the pumps. Trailblazers, Envoys, and Colorados do not interchange with regular LS truck power steering pumps.
L99/LS3 from 2010-2015 Camaro
LS3's were mated to the manual Tremec 6060 transmissions while the L99's were mated to the 6L80E's. L99's came with a decoupler alternator and the pulley cannot be interchanged with anything other than a replacement decoupler pulley. That means you can't use our 8 rib alternator pulley. 2013 they went to electric power steering and replaced the power steering pump with an idler pulley to get better belt wrap around the water pump. If your 2013-2015 LS3/L99 fits in your swap and you want hydraulic power steering, you can remove the idler pulley bracket and install either a 2010-2012 Camaro power steering pump bracket/pump/pulley or you can check out our 98-02 Camaro style power steering pump brackets in Truck spacing. LSA equipped Camaros (ZL1) do not share anything for the entire front drive system.
