DD-LS-ALT-W - LS Billet Alternator Only Wide

All threaded holes in the block and cylinder head should cleaned and tapped with a thread chaser. All bolts being installed should be lubed with a light oil or anti-seize on the bolt threads before assembly.

LS Billet Alternator Only Wide Fit Installation

Remove negative battery cable. Remove alternator and power steering brackets form engine. Remove alternator from original bracket. Install stainless washer on one bolt. Place the bolt through the top bracket. Slide spacer "B" onto bolt. Slide bolt through rear bracket, then spacer "A" and thread into cylinder head as shown in the complete photo. Install remaining three bolts and spacers and finger tighten. Place alternator between brackets and install the two 80mm bolts using stainless washers on both outer sides of the billet brackets. Corvette does not use the "A" spacer, the rear bracket bolts directly to the cylinder head.

Install lower pulley kit. After you install and torque the bolt to 28 ft. lbs. through the front plate, hold the bolt and install the rear stainless washer and lock nut. This prevents the bolt from coming loose.

Tighten all four bolts into cylinder head to 28 ft. lbs. Tighten the two bolts holding the alternator to 28 ft. lbs. Install wiring to alternator, belt, then the negative battery cable.
