All threaded holes in the block and cylinder head should cleaned and tapped with a thread chaser. All bolts being installed should be lubed with a light oil or anti-seize on the bolt threads before assembly.
* Designed to fit LS alternators from- 1998-2002 Camaro, Firebird, 2004-06 GTO, 2000-2013 LS Vortec Truck large and small case, and 2010-15 Camaro Alternators wihtout a clutch pulley.
Begin by installing the lower pulley kit to the front bracket. The bolt includes a small stainless washer and a lock nut for the back side. Torque the nut on the rear while holding the front bolt to 28 ft. lbs.
Next, mount the front plate onto the block. Use the longest bolts in the kit. Spacer "D" is placed at the bottom. Use stainless steel washers with every socket head bolt.
Then, mount the rear plate between the head and the outer plate using the "A" spacers against the head, and the "B" spacers between the two plates using stainless washers with the socket head bolts. Corvette does not use an "A" spacer.
Next, mount the alternator between the two plates using the two 80 MM bolts. Place a small stainless washer on both outer sides of the plates and then the lock nuts.
Next, mount the 98-02 (CB Style) Camaro power steering pump directly onto the front plate using the supplied 8 MM bolts. We include several long and short bolts to accomodate different styles of pumps. Be sure that your pump has the return pipe stub installed before installing your pump to the outer plate. 97-13 Corvette (TC Style) pump will use the optional "X" spacers between the pump and bracket. 2010-12 Camaro (CBR Style) will use the optional "Z" spacers between the pump and bracket and will not fit with Corvette spacing accessories. This pump comes with a smaller diameter pulley than the others and will require a slightly shorter belt. Each of these Type II pumps have a different offset on the shaft. You need to match the pulley to which pump you will be using.
98-02 (CB) Camaro 's have a .75" shaft diameter, 4-6 GPM, and 1200-1300 PSI
Pump: 26086074, 19369068, Tuff Stuff 6175AL-6
Pulley: 12559885 (Composite Plastic)
*Requires press-in fitting to convert to remote reservoir setup
6.5" (OEM Size) Billet 6 Rib
5" (Small Diameter) Billet 6 Rib
Press-in fitting for the return line
**This pump offers the greatest amount of clearance on the return line area and also fits in Corvette spacing
97-13 (TC) Corvette's have a .664" shaft diameter, 2.4-2.8 GPM, and 1250-1350 PSI
Pump: 84629501, 25960709
Pulley: 19421325 (metal spoked pulley)
6.5" (OEM Size) Billet 6 Rib
2010-12 (CBR) Camaro's have a .664" shaft diameter, 1.71-2.11 GPM, and 1633-1754 PSI
Pump: 19420202, 92229662
Pulley: 12610794 (Pulley is a about 5.5", you will need a shorter belt)
*Requires press-in fitting to convert to remote reservoir setup
Press-in fitting for the return line
**Will not fit in between the bracket and the block in Corvette spacing. This pump is much bulkier than a 98-02 Camaro pump.
This shows the return line differences. The billet press-in fitting on CB(98-02 Camaro) and CBR (2010-12 Camaro) style pumps give greater clearance than TC (97-13 Corvette) style pumps
Torque all 10mm bolts to 28 Ft. Lbs. Torque the 8mm bolts to 12 Ft. Lbs. Install power steering pump. Some type II pumps have holes in the pulley and do not require removing the pulley to install. TC (97-14 Corvette) Style pumps require the "X" spacers while CBR (2010-12 Camaro) require the "Z" spacers. The CB (98-02 Camaro) style does bolts right up with no spacers.
If you are installing a combo kit with AC- use the AC install instructions for correct belt size.
