This kit is designed to be used with our water pump adapters and a Gen IV 2008 Corvette water pump. Water pump adapters are HERE. Water pump adapter install is HERE.
All threaded holes in the block and cylinder head should cleaned and tapped with a thread chaser. All bolts being installed should be lubed with a light oil or anti-seize on the bolt threads before assembly.
The brackets are designed to used with Dirty Dingo water pump adpaters with a Gen IV corvette water pump and tensioner. Start with mounting the rear bracket to the driver's side cylinder head. Place the rear bracket directly against the cylinder head using the counter sunk 10MM, and 2 socket head 8MM bolts all 25MM long using stainless washers with the socket head bolts.
Mount the bottom brace in this orientation onto the block using 2 8MM X 25MM bolts and stainless washers.
If you are installing on a LT Gen V V6 engine- there is one hole missing for the bottom brace on the block. Install with one bolt and leave slightly loose. After installing the top bracket and bottom bolt, tighten this bolt into the block.
Install the front bracket and pump onto the engine.
"A" spacers fit behind the alternator and in front of the rear bracket.
"D" spacer fits between the front and rear brackets.
"E" spacers fit on the top inside between the front bracket and the cylinder head,
"F" spacer is on the bottom.
Bolt the power steering pump on the front bracket. If you are using a Corvette power steering pump you will place the 3 "X" spacers between the pump and bracket.
We include several long and short bolts to accomodate different styles of pumps. Be sure that your pump has the return pipe stub installed before installing your pump to the outer plate. 97-13 Corvette (TC Style) pump will use the optional X spacers between the pump and bracket. 98-02 (CB Style) Camaro pumps do not use an additional spacer. 201-12 Camaro (CBR Style) will use the optional Z spacers between the pump and bracket and will not fit in Corvette spacing. This pump comes with a smaller diameter pulley than the others and will require a slightly shorter belt. Every single one of these Type II pumps have a different offset on the pulley. You need to match the pulley to the pump.
98-02 (CB) Camaro's have a .75" shaft diameter, 4-6 GPM, and 1200-1300 PSI
Pump: 26086074, 19369068, Tuff Stuff 6175AL-6
*Requires press-in fitting to convert to remote reservoir setup
5" (Small Diameter) Billet 6 Rib
Press-in fitting for the return line
**This pump offers the greatest amount of clearance on the return line area and also fits in Corvette spacing
97-13 (TC) Corvette's have a .664" shaft diameter, 2.4-2.8 GPM, and 1250-1350 PSI
Pump: 84629501, 25960709
5" (Small Diameter) Billet 6 Rib
2010-12 (CBR) Camaro's have a .664" shaft diameter, 1.71-2.11 GPM, and 1633-1754 PSI
Pump: 19420202, 92229662
Pulley: 12610794 (Pulley is a about 5.5", you will need a shorter belt)
*Requires press-in fitting to convert to remote reservoir setup
Press-in fitting for the return line
**Will not fit in between the bracket and the block in Corvette spacing. This pump is much bulkier than a 98-02 Camaro pump.
This shows the return line differences. The billet press-in fitting on CB(98-02 Camaro) and CBR (2010-12 Camaro) style pumps give greater clearance than TC (97-13 Corvette) style pumps
Mount the alternator between the front and rear brackets using 2 "A" spacers behind the alternator using the two 10MM X 130MM bolts. Place a stainless washer on each end and use the 10MM lock nuts.
Torque all 10mm bolts to 28 Ft. Lbs. and all 8mm bolts to 18 Ft. Lbs.
Install lower idler pulley onto the front bracket as shown.
